I measured them, both are around 40.74 which is strange because i measured the usa one and it is 41.63

Yes it's narrow but the U shape neck makes it feel like it's wider than the usa one with the 41+ mm width.

I'm glad you noticed those patterns, I call that the X strat because of those pattens which I noticed when I bought it.

It is scalloped but shallow that's why it's hard to see.

Sorry man but the dimarzios have been replaced since 2013 on this guitar. These are now yjm fury pickups

The hum on this one when I filmed it is probably due to the other cables and electronics surrounding me at that time. I like this one better than the one with the rosewood fretboard because this feels a lot comfortable to play which is always puzzling to me when I compare rosewood fretboard and maple fretboard, rosewood always feels bit thicker in feel to my hands.

I don't remember that too, I do remember saying that I replaced the fretwire to jumbo.

@@rockcastlemusic It’s a Squier Standard Stratocaster. It was the top level Squier at the time.

Squier standards had 22 frets. And the top models in those days were the deluxe models not the standard.

It’s absolutely an Affinity! It’s The latest model. I have the exact same guitar. Learn your guitars before you run your mouth next time. 😂

I used spark amp on this. No pedals just my own settings.

Just normal high gloss canned spray paint.

@@rockcastlemusic I've tried clear Acrylic spray paint but with mixed results. Sometimes it can chip easily on necks. Maybe I just got unlucky with a bad batch. Thanks for sharing your video and knowledge. ☺👍

In my opinion, built quality in japan and us is the same , materials-usa got better wood, craftsmanship-japan. Which guitar comes out of the factory with little to no flaws-japan.

I agree, I like shallower scalloping too because it takes less time and work for me. But this one here I only scalloped like this because of the thin fretboard it has. Usually they end up deeper in the process of polishing like the candy apple red one that I have. It also depends on what thickness a maple fretboard neck has and what kind of finish, if it's thin or thick and tinted or not. But when it comes to his signature models, I prefer the older shallow scalloped ones.
